Fartygskonstruktioner AB (FKAB), established in 1961, is a full service Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Consultancy company. FKAB undertakes all types of marine design work for any type of vessel and has gained connections with many owners and shipyards worldwide.

Dalian FKAB Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. was established in Dalian in 2001 between FKAB and their Chinese partner, DASTEC (Dalian Shipbuilding Technology Research Centre Co., Ltd). A branch office in Shanghai opened beginning of 2005.

The FKAB activities are ranging from conceptual design, basic design & approval drawings, detail design as well as production design (in cooperation with our local shareholder, DASTEC) for new buildings as well as conversions.

The two Chinese offices (Dalian and Shanghai) enable FKAB the opportunity to provide the Chinese shipbuilding industry with a modern approach to development, design and project management. We are also encouraging Western ship owners to build new ships at Chinese shipyards. The local Chinese presence assures even greater opportunities to meet our customer's demands for innovative and cost-effective ship design solutions world wide.

We have presently a total of 110 engineers, 40 in Sweden and 70 in China. We can be backed up with further design capacity by our local Chinese partner, DASTEC.
